About the Role
You will implement, support, and maintain mission-critical PostgreSQL and Oracle database environments. You will manage clustering, storage, security, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery. You will collaborate on database design, server configuration, capacity planning, and production issue resolution.
Requirements
- 5+ years of production PostgreSQL database engineering experience
- 5+ years of production Oracle database engineering experience desired
- Strong UNIX/Linux skills
- Knowledge of database performance tuning and configuration tools
- Technical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Understanding of SDLC, source control, and change management protocols
- Verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize database platforms and related operating system environments
- Perform database performance and query tuning
- Implement and maintain production and non-production databases
- Perform database backups, restores, log shipping, mirroring, and replication
- Partner on database server installation, configuration, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Collaborate on database design, implementation, and usage optimization
- Respond to production and business-critical issues
