About the Role
You will build and maintain data ingestion pipelines, improve data quality and BigQuery infrastructure, implement access governance, and strengthen observability and incident recovery. You will partner with internal stakeholders to deliver reusable data-platform capabilities and contribute to design reviews, code reviews, documentation, and operational support.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of overall experience, including at least 7 years of data engineering experience
- Production data-system experience
- SQL and Python experience
- Cloud data warehouse experience
- BigQuery experience preferred
- DBT experience, including testing and deployment workflows
- Columnar file-system knowledge, including Parquet, Hudi, or Iceberg
- Dimensional modeling, data contracts, lineage, and data-quality knowledge
- API, batch-pipeline, or event-driven ingestion experience
- BigQuery governance, IAM/RBAC, policy tags, masking, streaming systems, or cost-control experience
- Data observability, orchestration, CI/CD, or infrastructure-as-code experience
- Ability to collaborate across IST and US PST time zones
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain batch and API-based data-ingestion pipelines
- Improve data quality through testing, CI checks, metadata, and layer boundaries
- Operate and improve BigQuery infrastructure
- Implement data access controls and governance workflows
- Improve pipeline observability, incident triage, and recovery
- Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver reusable platform capabilities
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, documentation, and operational support
