About the Role

Own the strategy and execution of external announcements, translate complex technical and market developments into clear narratives, secure earned media coverage, manage journalist relationships, prepare executives for media engagements, and coordinate cross-functional communications across Web3 and financial markets.

Requirements

  • At least 7+ years of communications, PR, or media relations experience, ideally in crypto, fintech, financial services, capital markets, enterprise technology, or high-growth technology.
  • Proven track record securing coverage for major company, product, partnership, funding, institutional, or ecosystem announcements.
  • Strong relationships with top-tier business, financial, broadcast, crypto, fintech, and trade media, including journalists, editors, producers, and bookers.
  • Ability to turn complex or technical topics into compelling narratives for mainstream and professional financial audiences.
  • Strong understanding of Web3, including DeFi, tokenization, stablecoins, blockchain infrastructure, crypto markets, and institutional adoption.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills across press and executive communications materials.
  • Highly organized and execution-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple announcements, stakeholders, and timelines.
  • Comfort working directly with senior executives and preparing them for high-stakes media moments.
  • Experience working in-house, at an agency, or across both.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote-first environment where major announcements may require work outside traditional hours.
  • New York City-based or able to be regularly present in New York for executive media engagements.
  • Experience with financial broadcast outlets, banking, capital markets, tokenization, stablecoins, payments, financial infrastructure, crypto-native and mainstream audiences, agency management, and live media environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead media strategy and execution for major announcements across DeFi, banking, capital markets, tokenized assets, stablecoins, interoperability, data, and compliance.
  • Translate complex technical and market developments into clear narratives for mainstream business, financial, crypto, and trade audiences.
  • Secure high-quality earned coverage across top-tier business, financial, broadcast, crypto, fintech, and institutional trade publications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, producers, and bookers across financial services, technology, crypto, and capital markets.
  • Own the announcement process, including press materials, targeted pitching, embargo management, spokesperson preparation, interview coordination, coverage tracking, and post-launch reporting.
  • Prepare executives and spokespeople for interviews, briefings, broadcasts, podcasts, conferences, and sensitive conversations.
  • Write and refine press releases, pitches, messaging documents, Q&As, briefing materials, talking points, reactive statements, and reporter backgrounders.
  • Monitor market, media, policy, and Web3 narratives to identify opportunities for Chainlink to shape the broader conversation.
  • Partner with product, business development, ecosystem, legal, policy, marketing, social, and content teams to align external communications.
