About the Role
You will turn Canadian dealer, clearing, and custody requirements into scalable, auditable workflows. You will own account, trade, custody, reconciliation, registered-account, tax, vendor, and production-operations processes; create SOPs and runbooks; improve straight-through processing; and support launch readiness and ongoing operations.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of hands-on Canadian brokerage operations experience
- Knowledge of clearing, settlement, custody, CDS or CDSX, fails, corporate actions, tax, cash and securities operations, account servicing, and introducing and carrying arrangements
- Depth in at least two of clearing and settlement, custody and asset servicing, books and records and reconciliations, or registered accounts and tax
- Knowledge of CIRO, provincial securities, and CSA requirements
- Experience redesigning and delivering lasting process and tooling changes
- Experience with workflow automation, rules engines, RPA, or AI-assisted operations
- Exceptional written communication for SOPs, RACI, decision logs, and requirements
Responsibilities
- Own account lifecycle and client and introducing-broker servicing workflows
- Own trade lifecycle processes including clearing, settlement, fails, and breaks
- Manage custody, asset servicing, security movements, corporate actions, and cash operations
- Maintain books and records, reconciliations, exception management, and operational controls
- Design registered-account and tax operations for TFSA, RRSP, RESP, cost basis, withholding, and reporting
- Create runbooks, escalation procedures, vendor interfaces, and business-continuity playbooks
- Translate Canadian operating requirements into SOPs, RACI, controls, and exception paths
- Redesign high-volume and high-risk workflows for automation and measurable SLAs
- Prototype AI-assisted operational workflows with appropriate human oversight
- Prepare launch readiness and drive continuous production improvement
