About the Role
You will own and build the architecture for client trading, pricing, risk management, and smart hedging systems. You will write code, break ambiguous systems into independently deliverable components, design for scale, and establish observability, alerting, fallback, and recovery practices. You will mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and connect architecture decisions to trading outcomes.
Requirements
- 7–12 years of experience building and operating production backend systems
- Distributed systems expertise
- Experience building durable and recoverable orchestrators and long-running workflows
- Database scaling knowledge including sharding and multi-region deployments
- Experience with observability and operational tooling for high-scale systems
- Hands-on coding experience
- Experience using AI coding tools
- Technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture of the Client Trading Engine, Pricing Engine, Risk Management Engine, and Smart Hedging
- Break ambiguous systems into smaller independently deliverable components with clear contracts
- Set and drive the architectural vision for trading and hedging
- Design scalable systems for growing volume, venues, and currency corridors
- Own observability standards across trade and risk-path components
- Design alerting, fallback, and recovery strategies
- Coach and mentor engineers through design reviews and feedback
- Partner with product, risk, and engineering managers on architectural decisions
