About the Role
You will develop safety requirements for perception, localization, prediction, planning, and control. You will identify failure modes, perform safety analyses, evaluate design trade-offs, lead validation campaigns, and create methods that help achieve autonomous-driving safety targets.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical field
- Understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and system modeling
- Foundation in probability and statistics
- Strong C++ or Python programming skills
- Experience with sensor fusion, machine learning, computer vision, motion planning, or control systems
- Knowledge of safety analysis methodologies
- Knowledge of safety-critical standards
- Knowledge of redundancy and fault-tolerant system design
Responsibilities
- Write C++ code to search high-dimensional failure spaces
- Develop safety requirements for autonomy systems
- Identify failure modes and edge cases
- Perform hazard analysis, risk assessments, and fault tree analysis
- Analyze autonomy system design trade-offs
- Lead simulation, track, on-road, and hardware-in-the-loop testing campaigns
- Develop new safety methods
- Drive cross-functional safety practices
