About the Role
You will join Carta's Tax team as a US Federal tax preparer and reviewer, using Carta's proprietary tax engine to file tax returns for clients. Your clients are among the most talented venture capitalists, fund managers and dealmakers in the world, and you'll help them realize their ambitions through Carta's investment stack. You will collaborate with Carta's wider accounting, fund administration and compliance teams on tax issues related to Carta's products and services, and work on productizing tax workflows and scaling post-deal processes.
Requirements
- US Federal tax experience for the preparation and filing of tax returns and IRS e-filings, focusing on partnership tax returns
- Fully qualified CPA or eligible to sit for the CPA exam
- Understanding of US tax filings relating to investment vehicles
- High attention to detail, written and quantitative
- Ability to navigate complex tax structures and documentation
- Organized and calm under pressure with ability to manage competing demands
- Passionate and knowledgeable about venture capital
- Experience leveraging technologies to automate processes and gain efficiencies
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to multitask to meet multiple deadlines
