About the Role
You will lead the design and delivery of production AI capabilities, including agentic workflows, LLM integrations, retrieval pipelines, and backend services. You will establish evaluation and observability practices, make architecture decisions, collaborate across product and engineering, and coach junior engineers.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of software engineering experience
- 1–2 years of meaningful production experience building LLM-powered features
- Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar LLM frameworks
- Experience building agentic systems, including tool use, multi-step reasoning, planning, memory, and human-in-the-loop patterns
- Understanding of prompt engineering, structured outputs, context management, and LLM trade-offs
- Experience evaluating LLM outputs
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js backend skills
- API design skills
- AWS cloud experience
- SQL and Postgres proficiency
- NoSQL exposure
- Experience mentoring and coaching engineers
- Experience using AI coding assistants critically and effectively
Responsibilities
- Design and build agentic workflows and AI-powered features using LLM frameworks
- Lead the design of agents, tool integrations, and retrieval pipelines
- Build and own evaluation frameworks for LLM quality, reliability, and latency
- Design and build backend services, APIs, and event-driven systems using TypeScript and Node.js
- Drive technical design reviews and architecture decisions
- Mentor junior engineers through pairing, code review, and design feedback
- Promote testing, observability, and AI system reliability practices
- Influence cross-team AI integration decisions
