About the Role
You will design, architect, and ship AI-powered internal platforms for operational departments. You will translate business needs into software, build front-end and back-end systems, orchestrate AI workflows, integrate third-party tools, operate production platforms, and partner with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical or technology-business field, or an exceptional non-traditional background with a strong shipped portfolio
- Portfolio of shipped software products, including AI-powered applications
- Experience running a business or working at a fast-scaling startup
- Modern software engineering practices including version control, code review, deployment pipelines, and production debugging
- Experience with large language model providers, APIs, tool calling, and structured outputs
- Experience designing prompt and tool-call architectures, selecting models, and optimizing AI cost and latency
- Programming proficiency in Python and TypeScript or JavaScript
- Experience with relational databases, SQL, and modern data tooling
- Written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and ship AI-powered internal platforms
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and shipped software
- Own front-end interfaces, back-end services, data models, integrations, and AI model orchestration
- Architect large language model pipelines, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflows
- Evaluate AI models for cost, latency, quality, reliability, and task performance
- Design evaluation frameworks, test datasets, scoring rubrics, and regression tests
- Optimize AI systems for cost and performance
- Partner with department leads to identify inefficiencies and prioritize solutions
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and requirements-gathering sessions
- Present technical work and operational outcomes to executive leadership
- Implement integrations with HR, support, CRM, applicant tracking, project management, and identity platforms
- Maintain production platforms, security updates, observability, error handling, and performance monitoring
- Respond to production incidents and iterate from user feedback and telemetry
- Document architectural decisions, system designs, and operational procedures
