About the Role
You will manage and maintain the organisation's financial accounting and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and integrity of financial information. You will ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies, while providing financial analysis to support business decisions. You will also assist with audits and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial controls and reporting processes in a fast-paced, evolving environment. This role calls for a blend of technical expertise, commercial insight, and start-up grit, so you should thrive in a fast-moving environment and enjoy solving complex problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, and CA or CPA qualification
- Experience in Big 4 audit, combined with commercial accounting experience
- Experience working in fintech, digital assets, or emerging financial technologies
- Strong technical financial and management accounting skills including IFRS expertise
- Ability to apply and document accounting standards to new products and business streams
- Experience in IFRS financial statement preparation
- Solid understanding of business processes and internal controls across finance and operations
- Well versed in EOM close processes, complex reconciliations of large data sets and the ability to work to deadlines
- Experience with automation tools, process transformation, or accounting system implementations
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Ability to work autonomously, meet reporting deadlines, and drive efficiency
Responsibilities
- Perform EOM close processes including BS reconciliations
- Prepare monthly management reporting including P&L review of Departmental Opex performance against budget
- Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and relevant local requirements including SFRS
- Develop accounting policies, processes, and controls to support global audit and licensing requirements
- Review and enhance internal financial controls and processes to improve efficiency, strengthen compliance, and mitigate risk
- Manage the lodgement calendar for a multi-entity multi-jurisdiction Group of companies
- Prepare GST / VAT returns and Withholding Tax filings with the Inland Revenue Authority for applicable entities
