About the Role

You will design, develop, and operate automated moderation, abuse-detection, and guardrail systems. You will build backend services, APIs, internal tools, and interfaces; deploy ML models; maintain production infrastructure; and translate product, legal, and safety-policy needs into scalable solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• Backend engineering experience designing APIs, working with databases, and building scalable services.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with modern backend frameworks.
• Experience building and maintaining distributed systems and cloud-based applications.
• End-to-end system ownership from design through deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Ability to build internal tools or frontend interfaces when needed.
• Problem-solving skills and pragmatic engineering judgment.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale automated moderation, abuse-detection, and guardrail systems.
• Identify emerging abuse patterns and improve safety systems and detection mechanisms.
• Build and maintain internal safety services, including their architecture, deployment, reliability, monitoring, and operation.
• Deploy and integrate ML models into production safety systems.
• Develop backend services, APIs, internal tools, and user-facing interfaces.
• Translate product, legal, regulatory, and safety-policy requirements into engineering solutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions for safety infrastructure.
