About the Role
You will lead rocket motor and DACS test programs from facility design and certification through research, qualification, and production acceptance testing. You will manage test personnel, conduct test campaigns, direct facility readiness, analyze results, lead safety activities, and present plans and results to government customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.
- 15 or more years of rocket-propulsion integration and test engineering experience.
- Hands-on Test Engineer and Test Conductor experience across R&D, qualification, and production acceptance.
- Experience with controllable solids, solid and liquid DACS kill-vehicle systems, and axial propulsion testing.
- Experience leading high-pressure liquid and gas test-facility design, startup, certification, and checkout.
- Environmental testing and process-safety experience, including PHA, PFMEA, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Experience with test planning, procedures, execution, data analysis, propulsion test facilities, instrumentation, controls, and government-customer presentations.
- U.S. Person status under ITAR/EAR.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage test engineers and technicians.
- Own rocket motor and DACS test planning, procedure development, execution, data review, and reporting.
- Serve as Test Engineer and Test Conductor for static-fire, qualification, and production-acceptance campaigns.
- Lead test-facility design, startup, certification, checkout, and operational readiness.
- Direct thermal, shock, vibration, and altitude testing.
- Lead PHAs, PFMEAs, root-cause analyses, and corrective actions.
- Interface with DoD and MDA customers on test planning, readiness reviews, and results presentations.
- Support proposals with estimates, staffing plans, and facility assessments.
