CBAI conducts and supports AI-safety research, runs fully funded in-person research fellowships and the CAMBRIA ML upskilling bootcamp, and supports AI-safety student groups in the Cambridge/Boston area.

About the Role
You will design and improve fellowship systems for selection, mentor matching, research goals, evaluation, and feedback. You will lead outreach campaigns, support fellowship events, manage mentor onboarding, and develop supplementary programming that strengthens fellows' research environment.
Requirements
- Experience designing or improving programs, initiatives, or organizational systems
- Experience with serious intellectual or analytical work environments
- Ability to design practical processes and systems
- Strong written communication and feedback skills
- Experience managing complex multi-stakeholder projects
- Familiarity with AGI safety and catastrophic AI risks
- Interest in AI safety research and program improvement
- U.S. work authorization
Responsibilities
- Design and improve fellowship systems, including selection processes and program deliverables
- Identify outreach channels and lead outreach campaigns
- Develop evaluation frameworks for fellow progress and program effectiveness
- Implement structural improvements between fellowship cycles
- Support fellowship events, including speaker series and poster days
- Design and manage mentor onboarding
- Develop feedback mechanisms for fellows, mentors, and program leadership
- Support research managers with complex fellow or mentor situations
- Design supplementary programming such as reading groups, lightning talks, and workshops
