About the Role
You will lead drug-discovery projects or medicinal chemistry efforts, apply synthetic organic chemistry and structure-based drug design, and guide projects toward candidate selection. You will manage CRO resources, provide technical direction to machine-learning platform work, develop intellectual property, and prepare scientific proposals and reports.
Requirements
- PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, or a related technical field, or equivalent industrial experience
- 5+ or 8+ years of medicinal chemistry experience in biotech, pharma, or a CRO
- Drug-discovery project leadership experience
- Experience with structure-based drug design
- Knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry and ADME optimization
- Experience managing CRO resources
- Scientific achievement evidenced by publications, patents, or presentations
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Drive drug-discovery programs as a Project Lead or Medicinal Chemistry Lead
- Collaborate cross-functionally on data-driven scientific solutions
- Represent the organization to collaborators and CROs
- Provide strategic input and technical direction to machine-learning platform teams
- Manage CRO resources and monitor KPIs
- Generate intellectual property positions
- Prepare scientific proposals and reports
- Line manage and mentor Medicinal Chemists when applicable
