About the Role

You will own safety assessment strategies for drug discovery and development projects from inception through regulatory submission. You will support small-molecule and biologics platforms, design screening cascades and mechanistic experiments, assess and mitigate safety risks, and prepare regulatory safety packages and documents. You will work with external CROs to ensure high-quality, timely data generation and support AI-based toxicology models. You will also share toxicology expertise with colleagues and contribute to continuous learning.

Requirements

  • PhD in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Biology, or a related technical field, or equivalent industrial experience.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in a senior toxicology role within biotech or pharma.
  • Track record of delivering non-clinical safety strategies across different therapy areas.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and filing successful IND packages for small molecules and biologics.
  • Deep understanding of global regulatory guidelines for safety assessment.
  • Experience partnering with Discovery and Clinical teams.
  • Written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Board certification.
  • Experience with peptides and other new modalities.
  • Understanding of AI and machine-learning techniques in drug discovery.

Responsibilities

  • Tailor and implement project-specific safety assessment strategies for small molecules and biologics.
  • Design screening cascades and mechanistic experiments to assess and mitigate safety risks.
  • Develop structure-activity relationship understanding of toxicology liabilities.
  • Define regulatory safety assessment packages for regulatory-agency acceptance.
  • Communicate integrated risk assessments and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Author and defend toxicology sections of regulatory documents.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with contract research organizations.
  • Ensure high-quality, timely data generation for portfolio projects.
  • Oversee data-generation campaigns supporting AI-based toxicology models.
  • Share toxicology expertise and support continuous learning among team members.
