About the Role
You will develop safety assessment strategies from project inception through regulatory submission. You will design screening cascades and mechanistic experiments, define regulatory safety packages, author toxicology documents, oversee CRO data generation, and partner on predictive toxicology models. You will also mentor junior colleagues.
Requirements
- PhD in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or Biology, or a DVM or MD with relevant experience
- Board Certification
- Extensive senior toxicology experience in biotech or pharma
- Experience filing successful INDs or CTAs for small molecules and biologics
- Deep understanding of global regulatory safety-assessment guidelines
- Experience partnering with Discovery and Clinical teams
- Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-first safety assessment strategies for small-molecule and biologic projects
- Design screening cascades and mechanistic experiments
- Develop SAR understanding of toxicology liabilities
- Define regulatory safety assessment packages
- Author toxicology sections of regulatory documents
- Develop predictive toxicology models with machine learning colleagues
- Identify technologies and methods that improve the platform or ways of working
- Maintain CRO relationships and oversee data-generation campaigns
- Mentor junior team members
