About the Role

You execute comprehensive testing protocols for switchboard assemblies throughout production, including visual inspections, continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, functional tests, and operational checks. You operate, calibrate, and maintain electrical test equipment; record test data; prepare reports; document non-conformances; support root cause analysis and corrective actions; maintain testing records; ensure compliance with electrical standards and safety regulations; collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams; and train production personnel on quality checks and testing procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five years of experience in electrical testing and quality control
  • Experience testing medium- or low-voltage switchgear assemblies
  • Understanding of electrical testing principles, methodologies, and safety practices
  • Knowledge of switchgear components, functionality, NEC, NFPA 70E, UL 891, IEEE, and ANSI standards
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
  • Experience operating and maintaining electrical testing equipment
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to perform standing, walking, bending, and lifting tasks
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity
  • Willingness to follow safety regulations and participate in safety training

Responsibilities

  • Execute visual inspections and electrical tests on switchboard assemblies
  • Follow test procedures and checklists against engineering specifications and industry standards
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain electrical testing equipment
  • Record test data and prepare test reports
  • Document test failures and non-conformances
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions
  • Ensure testing complies with NEC, NFPA 70E, UL 891, IEEE, ANSI, and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams
  • Provide feedback on design for testability
  • Train production personnel on quality checks and testing procedures
  • Maintain test procedures, results, and calibration records
