About the Role
Join Xsolla's Global Marketing team to plan, execute, and measure public relations and media relations campaigns across APAC. The role focuses on media relationships, strategic communications, regional events, culturally sensitive content, press materials, and reputation management, with the option to work from the Kuala Lumpur or Tokyo office or remotely across APAC.
Requirements
- BA or MA in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related discipline.
- 6-8 years of experience executing domestic and international PR campaigns, including meaningful APAC experience.
- Strong networks with local and international business and industry media across APAC, including Japan.
- Exceptional short-form, long-form, branded content, writing, editing, and light ad copywriting skills.
- PR event planning and execution experience in APAC, particularly Japan and South Korea.
- Expertise in crisis communications.
- Prior video game industry experience required; fintech experience is a bonus.
- Experience localizing press releases for Japan and understanding regional cultural nuances.
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently across time zones in a distributed team.
- Knowledge of Japan's APPI and other local data privacy laws and business practices.
- Fluency in Japanese and English required; Korean or Mandarin is a bonus.
- Ability to manage reputation, launch products, handle confidential information, work cross-functionally, and undertake special projects.
Responsibilities
- Foster relationships with media outlets and partners across Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and APAC.
- Contribute to marketing communications plans covering strategy, goals, budget, and tactics.
- Develop media relations plans to secure high-profile print, broadcast, and online placements.
- Coordinate PR activities, event logistics, and speaking opportunities at regional games, fintech, and web3 events.
- Create culturally sensitive content across traditional and new media platforms.
- Cultivate contacts within business, technology, and gaming media across APAC.
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests.
- Craft press releases, bylined articles, and presentation scripts.
- Evaluate partnership, sponsorship, and advertising opportunities.
- Build relationships with thought leaders, industry associations, and gaming stakeholders.
- Track APAC gaming industry trends and recommend communications strategies.
- Create thought leadership content and maintain a bank of editorial ideas.
