About the Role

You will serve as the technical escalation point for assigned automation systems. You will diagnose field issues, test remediation plans, support Field Service Engineers, identify recurring failures, maintain troubleshooting documentation, and work with engineering and design partners to deliver permanent product improvements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with industrial automation robotics or manufacturing equipment
  • Troubleshooting across mechanical electrical controls and automation systems
  • Experience with PLCs industrial robots safety equipment vision or networking
  • Equipment testing and problem reproduction
  • Data-driven technical problem solving
  • Written and verbal communication
  • Collaboration with Field Engineering Product Engineering and Design
  • Ability to work from the Chicago or Oakland office during normal weekday hours

Responsibilities

  • Own technical escalations for assigned system types
  • Support Field Service Engineers with troubleshooting and root-cause identification
  • Review logs system data configurations drawings and failure history
  • Reproduce field failures on office equipment
  • Test PLC robot software electrical and configuration changes
  • Create troubleshooting plans for field execution
  • Identify recurring failures across the fleet
  • Escalate systemic product issues with data testing and recommendations
  • Improve the knowledge base troubleshooting guides and procedures
  • Reduce repeat visits and improve first-time resolution
  • Travel when required
