About the Role
You will partner with post-training research leaders to prioritize work, sequence decisions, and connect research to model and product goals. You will track dependencies across training, data, evaluations, safety, infrastructure, and product work; create learning plans; bring user evidence into prioritization; support releases; and communicate decisions and open questions clearly.
Requirements
- Experience as an early or first product leader in a technical startup, AI lab, research organization, or new product area
- Experience working with model training, post-training, reinforcement learning, evaluations, data, safety, inference, developer platforms, or another demanding research-product area
- Ability to understand research deeply, ask sharp questions, and connect technical choices to model behavior and users
- Strong track record of identifying missing connections, unresolved assumptions, or cross-team decisions
Responsibilities
- Partner with post-training research leaders on priorities, sequencing, and decision points
- Maintain visibility across training, data, evaluations, safety, infrastructure, and product dependencies
- Translate ambiguous questions into learning plans and evidence-based decisions
- Build lightweight mechanisms for owners, dependencies, risks, release criteria, and follow-through
- Bring model-behavior and workflow evidence into research prioritization
- Connect research, product, infrastructure, safety, and leadership on cross-team decisions
- Support research results through adoption, evaluation, documentation, release readiness, integration, and post-launch feedback
- Write clear narratives about learning, uncertainty, and decisions
- Take ownership of unowned work needed to advance critical outcomes
