About the Role
You will own the end-to-end card transaction lifecycle, from authorization flows and 3DS authentication to settlement processing and exception handling. You will design and lead transaction monitoring systems that operate across schemes and jurisdictions, manage dispute resolution and chargeback processes, and triage operational issues affecting authorization and settlement. You will ensure ongoing compliance with Visa and Mastercard scheme rules, manage local regulatory obligations, integrate and refine KYB/KYC flows, maintain country restriction policies, proactively identify risk and compliance gaps, and evaluate and implement risk management vendors and their APIs alongside engineering and operations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience in card transaction processing, fraud or risk products, or compliance with exposure to Visa and/or Mastercard scheme rules
- Solid understanding of the card transaction lifecycle including authorization, clearing, settlement, dispute and chargeback processes
- Experience working with payment processors and understanding interactions between issuers, acquirers, networks, and processors
- Experience managing KYB and KYC review processes and AML monitoring frameworks
- Structured systems-thinking mindset to understand interactions between authorization, fraud, AML, and KYC
- Strong written communication skills for documenting SLAs, internal policies, and scheme compliance responses
- Proficiency with card scheme portals and APIs such as Visa Online, VROL, or Mastercard Connect
- Experience with SQL to query and investigate transaction data
- Ability to read and interpret API responses, webhooks, and log data for transaction debugging
- Comfortable using AI tooling to boost productivity
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end card transaction lifecycle including authorization flows, settlement processing, 3DS authentication, and exception handling
- Lead product strategy for transaction monitoring across card schemes and jurisdictions
- Manage dispute resolution and chargeback processes including intake, VROL/Mastercard API integration, response submissions, and outcome tracking
- Monitor transaction health and triage operational issues affecting authorization rates, settlement failures, and card scheme exceptions
- Ensure compliance with Visa and Mastercard scheme rules and manage programme-level compliance reporting and audit responses
- Manage local regulatory compliance obligations in applicable jurisdictions
- Integrate and refine KYB and KYC flows for new markets to implement compliance policy requirements
- Maintain and enforce country restriction policies for card issuance and transaction acceptance
- Identify risk and compliance gaps and build scalable systems to mitigate them
- Evaluate, onboard, and manage risk management vendors and their API integrations alongside engineering
