About the Role
You will provide technical leadership for systems that support Security Operations Center investigation workflows, automation, remediation, and customer reporting. You will shape architecture, turn ambiguous operational problems into reliable and auditable solutions, and drive high-leverage execution. You will develop agentic investigation capabilities with appropriate safety and accuracy controls, improve observability and reliability, prototype uncertain approaches, mentor senior engineers, and make pragmatic technical decisions. You will work deeply in Ruby on Rails systems while supporting frontend experiences and highly parallel production workloads.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience developing complex software products
- 8+ years of Ruby on Rails programming experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or other public cloud environments
- Experience with relational databases such as Postgres and in-memory datastores such as Redis
- Experience building production LLM systems using agents, tools, evaluation, guardrails, and proven patterns
- Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code
- Deep backend expertise and experience scaling production systems
- Frontend fundamentals with Hotwire, Turbo, and Stimulus
- Ability to build and maintain highly parallel systems designed for concurrency, throughput, and correctness under load
Responsibilities
- Represent the team’s technical perspective in cross-functional discussions and drive alignment on key decisions
- Make pragmatic trade-off decisions across requirements, reliability, performance, and cost
- Break down ambiguous requirements, clear blockers, and drive work from planning to delivery
- Provide feedback, mentor engineers, and address team friction with the engineering manager
- Improve team performance through code review, pairing, patterns, tooling, and shared understanding
- Design and ship agentic investigation capabilities with accuracy, safety, and auditability controls
- Prototype and de-risk uncertain technical approaches before handing them off
- Own the team’s technical architecture and define long-term system strategy
