About the Role

You will own the mechanical architecture for robotic manipulation systems from requirements through field release. You will set engineering standards, lead design reviews, improve reliability, collaborate on hardware and software interfaces, select suppliers and components, and mentor mechanical engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with integrated hardware and software systems in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or industrial automation
• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
• Experience owning mechanical system architecture end to end
• Expertise in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
• Experience applying design-for-manufacturability principles
• Experience leading reliability programs, including FMEA, root-cause analysis, and corrective action
• Proficiency with FEA
• Experience with PDM systems and formal part-release processes
• Experience integrating sensors into electromechanical systems
• Experience mentoring engineers

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical architecture for robotic manipulation systems from requirements through field release
• Define engineering standards for CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and documentation
• Apply design-for-manufacturability principles with vendors and contract manufacturers
• Lead design reviews and mentor mechanical engineers
• Define hardware and software interface requirements with cross-functional engineering teams
• Evaluate vendors and components and lead supplier development
• Lead reliability initiatives including FMEA, FTA, and corrective actions
• Identify and resolve systemic mechanical risks before field deployment
