About the Role
You will lead the design, analysis, optimization, testing, and integration of fluid and thermal systems for aircraft and ground platforms. You will develop thermal solutions, build engineering models and simulations, validate systems against requirements, coordinate system integration, manage suppliers and component sourcing, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of fluid or thermal system design experience
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering
- Knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and thermal management
- Experience with MATLAB Simscape, Amesim, or similar modeling tools
- Experience developing models in Excel, MATLAB, or Python
- Fluid and thermal system testing experience, including sensor integration, data acquisition, and analysis
- Experience with Siemens NX or equivalent 3D CAD tools
- Supplier management, COTS sourcing, and trade studies
- Ability to obtain an S//SAR level security clearance desired
Responsibilities
- Own fluid and thermal system design and analysis for aircraft and ground platforms
- Develop innovative thermal solutions
- Apply first-principles engineering to design decisions
- Research technologies for complex system integration
- Conduct simulations to predict performance and refine designs
- Execute testing and validation, including data acquisition, post-processing, and verification
- Integrate fluid and thermal designs into system architectures
- Mentor junior engineers
- Identify suppliers and manage component and system procurement
