About the Role
You will own the technical architecture of a GCP data platform spanning BigQuery, Kafka, ingestion, transformation, and integration services. You will lead complex migrations, establish data contracts and observability, guide engineering standards, mentor engineers, manage delivery risks, and advise business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience designing and operating large-scale GCP data pipelines
- Experience with BigQuery Cloud Composer or Airflow and GCS
- Knowledge of Apache Kafka and real-time streaming architectures
- Experience leading or technically mentoring data engineers
- Ability to set standards and conduct code and design reviews
- Knowledge of data contracts pipeline observability SLA and SLO definition
- Experience with automated alerting and remediation
- Understanding of SQL transformation patterns and dbt
- Experience managing third-party connectors and in-house integrations
- Strong cross-functional communication skills
- Experience in a regulated financial services environment
- Experience with structured delivery disciplines
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture of the GCP data platform
- Lead complex migrations from AWS and on-premises systems to GCP
- Define platform contracts interfaces and self-service data patterns
- Establish data contracts observability SLA and SLO monitoring and automated remediation
- Act as the senior technical contact for business stakeholders
- Set engineering standards through code and design reviews
- Mentor engineers and develop reusable frameworks
- Provide quality assurance for third-party engineering staff
- Shape sprint cadences and escalate technical risks
- Report on pipeline SLOs data freshness and engineering metrics
