About the Role
You will lead the architecture and development of OpenBMC management firmware for hyperscale AI server platforms. You will enable hardware integration, build manageability interfaces, architect firmware security and lifecycle management, develop telemetry pipelines, collaborate with hardware partners, mentor engineers, and debug systems across lab and production environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience developing BMC firmware for server or data center platforms
- Expertise with OpenBMC, D-Bus services, Yocto/BitBake and platform integration
- Strong C/C++ and Python or Bash programming skills
- Experience with Redfish, PLDM, SPDM, MCTP and IPMI
- Understanding of server hardware architecture, power delivery, thermals, sensors and FRUs
- Experience with I2C, I3C, SPI and PCIe
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines for firmware development and validation
- Strong debugging skills with JTAG, GDB and logic analyzers
- Experience with ARM-based server platforms and hyperscale environments is desirable
- Experience contributing to the OpenBMC codebase is desirable
Responsibilities
- Lead OpenBMC firmware architecture and development
- Enable power management, sensors, FRU inventory and device management
- Develop manageability interfaces using D-Bus, Redfish, PLDM and MCTP
- Architect Root of Trust, secure boot and measured boot capabilities
- Design firmware lifecycle management with rollback protection
- Develop telemetry and observability pipelines
- Collaborate with silicon vendors and ODM partners
- Contribute to OpenBMC upstream projects and industry standards
- Mentor engineers and promote Yocto, CI/CD and automated testing best practices
- Lead system-level debugging across hardware and firmware
