About the Role

You will design, build, deploy, and validate network capture servers and develop capture and query software in C++, Python, Rust, and Ruby. You will automate provisioning with Ansible, provide production support, troubleshoot live issues, improve monitoring and capacity planning, and coordinate deployments with infrastructure teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional systems software engineering experience
  • Strong skills in Rust, C, C++, or Go
  • Willingness to make C++ the primary language
  • Experience with DPDK or comparable kernel-bypass packet processing
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
  • Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, NICs, and packet analysis
  • Experience with server hardware and data center workflows
  • Experience with Ansible or comparable configuration management
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and package management
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, Ruby, or similar
  • Experience with testing, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
  • Availability for weekly production support including some off-hours, nights, and weekends

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, deploy, and validate network capture servers
  • Develop and maintain capture and query software
  • Build Ansible automation and deployment tooling
  • Provide weekly production support
  • Troubleshoot live capture issues and coordinate incident response
  • Monitor proactively to identify problems
  • Improve automation, monitoring, and capacity planning
  • Onboard new capture deployments with stakeholder teams
  • Coordinate work between Network Capture Services and infrastructure teams
