About the Role
You will serve as the senior technical design authority for global transport, WAN, backbone, cloud exchange, and Internet peering infrastructure. You will create designs and standards, evaluate technologies and vendors, govern major changes, and support strategic partner and customer engagements.
Requirements
- 12+ years of network engineering experience
- At least 4 years in a senior architecture or principal engineering role
- Expertise in IP/MPLS, SRv6, IPv6, BGP, traffic engineering, and multi-AS routing
- Experience designing carrier-grade backbone and WAN infrastructure
- Hands-on expertise with Nokia SR routing platforms and coherent optical transport
- Knowledge of data-center fabric architecture, cloud exchange platforms, and customer connectivity
- Experience with OpenConfig, NETCONF, YANG, and API-driven infrastructure
- Ability to produce architecture designs, technical documentation, and standards
- Experience evaluating vendors and technologies
- Experience engaging enterprise customers and hyperscalers
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain global network architecture standards
- Lead designs for new network infrastructure deployments
- Produce network designs, topology documentation, addressing schemes, and routing policies
- Define technology selection criteria and lead vendor evaluations
- Conduct architecture reviews for significant network changes
- Own the network technology roadmap
- Evaluate emerging network capabilities and cloud exchange integration
- Review and approve significant network designs
- Identify architectural risks and drive resolution
- Engage strategic technology, connectivity, carrier, and colocation partners
- Support customer and hyperscaler architecture engagements
- Collaborate with Product and Sales on customer-facing network value
