Platform Engineer

Skills

About the Role

You will design and operate cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code, run Kubernetes in production, and develop automation, CI/CD pipelines, and internal tooling to improve developer experience. You will build monitoring and observability, participate in on-call rotations, respond to incidents and post-mortems, and implement security and compliance as part of everyday engineering.

Requirements

  • Experience designing, operating, and optimising cloud infrastructure in production (ideally AWS)
  • Experience running Kubernetes in production and understanding its operational trade-offs
  • Willingness to be on call and take responsibility for production systems
  • Security-minded system design and experience implementing compliance constraints
  • Experience building developer tooling, automation, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals and system design
  • Strong communication skills for remote collaboration and ability to work autonomously
  • Bonus: experience operating streaming systems (e.g. Redpanda) or running infrastructure on bare metal

Responsibilities

  • Design, operate, and continuously improve cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and observability
  • Identify bottlenecks and drive reliability and performance improvements for critical platform components
  • Run Kubernetes in production and evolve how it is operated
  • Develop and maintain automation, CI/CD pipelines, and internal developer tooling
  • Build monitoring and observability that make system health and performance easy to understand
  • Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to incident response and post-mortems
  • Implement and operate security and compliance constraints as part of normal engineering work

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity package (top 25% in the space)
  • Employee equity scheme with heavily discounted strike price (~90%) and 10-year exercise window
  • 5 weeks PTO plus local public holidays (swappable)
