About the Role

You will own the energy-management and plant-control architecture for off-grid campuses. You will develop operating sequences, test control systems in simulation and hardware-in-the-loop environments, define control interfaces, commission and tune plants, and hire controls software and test engineers.

Requirements

• Experience owning a plant controller or energy management system for a utility-scale hybrid plant
• Experience writing and commissioning operating sequences for transitions, blackstart, or islanding
• Experience shipping version-controlled and tested control software to operating plants
• Experience specifying, accepting, and replacing third-party controllers or components
• Experience designing and testing interfaces between separate control systems
• Experience tuning frequency and voltage response, ramp rates, and load steps in the field
• Ability to write technical documents for controls engineers, commissioning agents, and executives

Responsibilities

• Own the energy management system, plant controller, and dispatch architecture
• Develop operating sequences for source transitions, blackstarts, emergency shedding, and degraded states
• Prove operating sequences through simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing
• Define the control contract between power plants and data centers
• Select, specify, test, and replace third-party control components
• Build plant-model and controls-test capabilities
• Lead field commissioning and tuning
• Hire controls software and test engineers
