About the Role
You will lead the development of high-performance motion-planning modules for autonomous vehicles. You will mentor engineers, set technical direction, design planning software integrating perception and map data, establish validation protocols, work with customers, and improve planning-domain software practices and performance.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, or a related engineering field focused on planning
- 5+ years of experience building and leading production software teams for autonomous-vehicle planning algorithms
- Ability to lead technical projects end to end and mentor junior engineers
- Fluency in modern C++ and experience with performance-critical software
- Problem-solving ability and practical, scalable solution delivery
- Communication skills for technical leadership and customer-facing interactions
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor software engineers working on behavior software and motion planning
- Develop on-road behavior software and use ML components for highway and city driving
- Use lightweight map data and perception outputs to determine planning costs
- Architect and oversee planning modules for dynamic path planning
- Establish testing and validation protocols on production hardware and real-world roads
- Manage technical customer relationships and align deliverables with autonomy goals
- Drive improvements in software practices, performance optimization, and planning innovation
- Contribute technical leadership to project planning, prioritization, and roadmaps
