About the Role

You will own end-to-end payroll processing for a growing multi-state employee base. You will reconcile payroll inputs, manage tax obligations, maintain payroll systems, coordinate employee changes, prepare reports and filings, and improve manual processes through scalable systems and controls.

Requirements

• 4+ years of progressive payroll or accounting experience
• Direct ownership of multi-state payroll and tax compliance
• Experience at a high-growth technology startup or private company
• Hands-on experience with modern payroll systems
• Rippling or Deel experience strongly preferred
• Experience processing complex compensation including bonuses commissions and equity
• Strong knowledge of federal state and local payroll tax requirements
• Experience partnering with HR Legal and Finance
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
• Certified Payroll Professional designation is a plus
• Prior public company payroll experience is a plus
• Experience with crypto token or equity compensation tax implications is a plus

Responsibilities

• Run end-to-end payroll processing each cycle
• Reconcile timekeeping data garnishments and benefits deductions
• Manage federal state and local tax withholding remittance and compliance
• Maintain and improve Rippling or Deel configuration
• Partner with HR on hires terminations and compensation changes
• Prepare payroll reports and manage year-end W-2 and 1099 filings
• Build systems and processes to eliminate unnecessary manual work
