About the Role

You will run the South African OTC client book for institutional customers, VIP traders, corporates, and professional traders. You will price, quote, source, and execute large trades, manage working capital and trade disputes, hedge market risk, own P&L, develop crypto and FX trading strategies, analyze digital asset markets, report on performance, and improve trading and risk systems.

Requirements

3–5 years of trading experience within a brokerage or sell-side OTC trading desk in crypto, FX, equities, or derivatives
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline
Derivatives arbitrage knowledge or experience is a plus
An advanced degree or professional qualification such as CFA, CAIA, or MBA is beneficial
Successful broking or OTC trading track record across more than one market
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic trading environment
Compliance with regulatory standards and commitment to ethical trading practices
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in trade execution and documentation
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Passion for crypto

Responsibilities

Own the client book
Price and quote large OTC trades
Source counter-trades and execute trades with speed and discipline
Build relationships with institutional customers and VIP traders
Manage the desk's working capital
Own trade disputes and settle trades with Trade Operations
Execute OTC trades, counter-trades, and market counter-trades within approved strategies
Hedge market risk on working capital and revenue streams
Execute revenue liquidation trades
Own the desk's P&L against targets and risk limits
Develop trading strategies across crypto and FX
Produce in-depth analysis of digital asset markets
Deliver the daily market read to the Treasury team
Maintain accurate records of trades, P&L, risk, and performance metrics
Produce regular stakeholder reporting
Specify improvements to trading and risk systems
Shape the move from manual execution to a scaled, systematic operation
Pressure-test risk frameworks and models
