About the Role
You will provide first-line network operations coverage from the GIOC. You will monitor routing, DNS, CDN, connectivity, link health, latency, and packet loss; acknowledge and classify incidents; execute Tier 1 runbooks; and escalate unresolved issues with complete evidence. You will maintain incident records and shift handoffs, communicate status, support major incidents, and improve runbooks and alert quality on a rotational 24x7 schedule.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of network operations, NOC, or IT operations experience
- Network monitoring and troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, firewalls, load balancing, and CDN concepts
- Familiarity with ping, traceroute, packet capture, and link or latency analysis
- Incident-management and severity-based triage knowledge
- Exposure to monitoring, observability, alerting, and ITSM tools
- Written English communication skills
- Ability to work rotational 24x7 shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Responsibilities
- Monitor network health signals from a consolidated dashboard
- Acknowledge alerts and incidents within first-response SLA targets
- Review alerts, recent changes, and the CMDB before acting
- Classify incidents by severity, impact, and owning tower
- Route tickets to the correct tower or escalation path
- Execute Tier 1 runbooks to resolve common connectivity and routing issues
- Document actions and evidence in incident tickets
- Escalate unresolved issues with complete handoffs
- Maintain shift logs, ticket updates, and incident timelines
- Communicate status to stakeholders and customers
- Support major-incident bridges and track restoration
- Improve runbooks, knowledge-base articles, alert tuning, and automation
