About the Role
You will join the growing Technology team as the network thought-leader, helping build and optimize IT infrastructure for the business. You'll safeguard the continuity of trading systems infrastructure, support traders in their daily activities, and monitor and optimise systems hosting a wide range of applications. You'll drive innovations, from creating new links between stock markets and the network to implementing solutions that improve stability, performance and reliability. You'll maintain and improve existing network, infrastructure and systems, including network orchestration and automation tasks. You will manage and shape infrastructures, develop contingency plans, and provide secondary and tertiary support to teams. You'll be in frequent contact with internal and external stakeholders such as traders, data centers, colocations and third-party suppliers, and you'll proactively look for ways to optimise performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Professional Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in IT (support/optimization/deployments) covering wide area networks, branch offices, cloud, multicast routing, security devices (firewalls) and wireless networks
- Desired experience with electronic trading systems within a capital markets firm or equivalent industry (APAC regional knowledge)
- Desired experience supporting environments with low latency networks, capture probes and network latency management systems
- Strong knowledge of Cisco & Arista technologies (L1/L2/L3 switches and routers, firewalls and wireless etc.)
- Understanding of specific IT needs such as low latency, high performance, redundancy and high availability
- Experience with Unix/Linux command line and networking stack
- Knowledge of routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, multicast routing (PIM SM/DM/SSM)
- Hands-on scripting experience (Bash/Shell, Python and Salt)
- Network related certification (e.g. CCNP) is a plus
- Knowledge of Cloud platform environments (AWS and GCP)
- Knowledge of Data Center and cabling standards
- Understanding of Project Management methodology and best practices
- Able to produce quality documentation on network design, diagrams and support materials
- Knowledge of switching concepts: VLAN, Spanning-tree protocol (RSTP, MSTP), Port-Channel, VRRP/HSRP, CEF, TCAM etc.
- Knowledge of time synchronization protocols NTP, PTP (grandmaster, boundary clock, offset) and GPS
- Knowledge of TCP analysis and traffic optimization (TCP Slow-start, Dup-Acks, Retransmits, SACK, Checksum, Seq Number)
- Knowledge of security (VPN, IPSEC, SSL, Access-Lists)
- Knowledge of network monitoring (Zabbix, SNMP, Netflow and Grafana)
- Knowledge of WAN connectivity (MPLS, Ethernet and DWDM)
- Knowledge of packet decoding and analysis tools such as tcpdump and wireshark
