About the Role
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot rapidly expanding infrastructure while ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Manage and monitor systems, configure applications, support QA and Development teams, maintain backups, provide second-level support, participate in on-call coverage, and liaise with service providers on hardware issues.
Requirements
- Background in IT or computer science, through a degree or equivalent hands-on experience
- Experience with Linux operating systems and command-line tools
- Familiarity with DNS, NAT, IPSEC, and common networking technologies
- Ability to write Bash or Python automation scripts
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Solid troubleshooting skills
- Interest in infrastructure, systems, or DevOps-style work
- Exposure to virtual machines or containers such as Docker is a plus
- Awareness of Grafana, Zabbix, or similar monitoring tools is a plus
- Experience with simple SQL database tasks is a plus
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor software and hardware systems
- Configure and manage software applications
- Ensure high system availability
- Monitor and test application performance for bottlenecks
- Work with Quality Assurance and Development teams on bugs and continuous optimization
- Maintain backups of mission-critical systems
- Provide second-level Customer Service support and participate in an out-of-hours on-call roster
- Liaise with service providers and external partners regarding hardware issues
- Perform 24x7 proactive monitoring and support of live and pre-production environments
