About the Role

You will own the Irish AML/CFT programme, including policies, procedures, controls, training, and management information. You will assess and report suspicious transactions, oversee investigations and documentation, engage with regulators and financial intelligence authorities, manage audits and remediation, prepare board-level reports, and embed Irish regulatory requirements into wider compliance frameworks.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior compliance or MLRO role within an Irish or EU-regulated financial services or payments institution.
  • Direct PCF or CF designation experience is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Criminal Justice Acts 2010 to 2021, CBI AML/CFT requirements, and EU AML directives as transposed into Irish law.
  • Experience engaging directly with the Central Bank of Ireland or an equivalent competent authority.
  • Experience managing or mentoring compliance staff and driving operational improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience reviewing management information and transaction monitoring outputs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-moving and ambiguous regulatory environment.
  • CAMS certification or an equivalent professional AML qualification is preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-jurisdictional group compliance structure is preferred.
  • Familiarity with regtech or transaction monitoring platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Irish AML/CFT programme including policies, procedures, controls, training, and management information.
  • Receive, assess, and report suspicious transactions to FIU Ireland and ROS.
  • Oversee investigations, escalations, and documentation of suspicious transaction reports.
  • Manage relationships with the Central Bank of Ireland, FIU Ireland, banking partners, and competent authorities.
  • Lead AML/CFT audits and manage remediation tracking.
  • Prepare board-level management information and compliance reports.
  • Embed Irish regulatory requirements into group compliance frameworks.
  • Use AI tools to draft regulatory correspondence, policies, and compliance reports and validate the outputs.
