About the Role
You will design, operate, and continuously improve storage infrastructure for relational, NoSQL, and vector databases. You will own reliability and performance objectives, build storage abstractions and APIs, design efficient data models, and lead capacity planning, benchmarking, scaling, migrations, and deprecations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and operating large-scale backend or infrastructure systems
- Experience with a major database technology such as Postgres, MySQL, DynamoDB, or Cassandra
- Familiarity with cloud storage services
- Knowledge of distributed systems, data modeling, and performance optimization
- Experience owning services from design through deployment and on-call
- Proficiency in Go, Rust, Python, or another backend programming language
- Communication and collaboration skills

- Own reliability, performance, and availability objectives for stateful systems
- Investigate storage incidents and deliver long-term fixes
