About the Role
You will travel with construction teams to install and commission medium-voltage systems. You will install switchgear, transformers, cable, duct banks, and control wiring; conduct testing; interpret electrical drawings; follow switching and safety procedures; produce records; and provide constructability feedback.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on electrical construction at 5 kV and above
- Documented 15 kV and/or 35 kV terminations
- Experience installing or landing medium-voltage switchgear, transformers or GSUs, and cable
- Ability to read medium-voltage one-lines, cable schedules, and termination drawings
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, LOTO, medium-voltage switching and clearance, and OSHA 1910.269
- Ability and willingness to travel 80% or more on a construction rotation
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test medium-voltage systems
- Pull, rack, land, and terminate 15 kV and 35 kV cable
- Install medium-voltage duct banks, manholes, and raceways
- Support hipot, VLF, and insulation-resistance testing
- Work adjacent to live medium-voltage buses under switching orders, clearances, and LOTO
- Read and interpret one-lines, drawings, cable schedules, and termination drawings
- Produce as-builts and test records
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269, switching, clearance, LOTO, and arc-flash protocols
- Participate in constructability reviews and provide field feedback
- Mobilize between project locations as construction phases shift
