Required and preferred rules are kept separate and reflect the wording in the original posting.
About the Role
You will lead acoustic studies for data center and power-generation designs. You will build outdoor sound-propagation models, recommend noise mitigations, incorporate acoustic requirements into engineering designs, define occupational noise limits, and support permitting with assessments and measurements.
Requirements
- Have 5+ years of acoustics or noise-control engineering experience on industrial, power-generation, or mission-critical facilities.
- Take at least one project from study through permit and commissioning measurement.
- Use an outdoor sound-propagation tool such as CadnaA or SoundPLAN.
- Understand the ISO 9613-2 method.
- Perform environmental noise measurement and octave-band calculations.
- Know OSHA 1910.95 and local industrial-site noise ordinances.
- Have experience specifying and measuring barriers, silencers, and acoustic enclosures.
Responsibilities
- Run environmental and occupational noise studies and calculations for data center and power-generation designs.
- Build and maintain outdoor sound-propagation models and adapt them to candidate sites, terrain, and local ordinances.
- Specify acoustic barriers, silencers, enclosures, louvers, and equipment selections.
- Integrate noise requirements into mechanical, electrical, power-generation, and architectural designs.
- Define occupational noise exposure limits and hearing conservation zones.
- Produce noise assessments, reports, and measurements for permitting and community engagement.
Benefits
- Equity for full-time roles
