About the Role

You'll play a vital role working alongside doctors, nurses and pharmacists to triage, assess and support patients through their treatment. You'll provide medical support to patients primarily via email, evaluating the severity of medical side effects and enquiries, and escalating where appropriate. You'll respond to patients promptly with accurate medical information while maintaining patient safety, and you'll reach out to patients based on tracker information to support treatment adherence. You'll also provide internal support for initiatives focused on patient access and treatment success, including proactive outreach, preparing GP letters, coordinating pharmacy communications, and conducting 4-month and 8-month patient reviews under guidance from the Sydney medical team. Finally, you'll share patient feedback and insights with the clinical services team to help improve the service.

Requirements

  • A Doctor of Medicine, Registered Pharmacist or Registered Nurse with 2+ years post-registration experience in the healthcare industry
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and in a patient-friendly manner via email
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating effectively with team members, and adept at handling frequent interruptions and adapting to changes in workload and schedule
  • Task-oriented mindset with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring adherence to processes with precision
  • Experience triaging in a clinic or emergency setting (bonus)
  • Previous work experience in tele-health (bonus)
  • Passion for weight loss, skincare, sexual health or fertility (bonus)

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical support to patients with a range of conditions, primarily via email
  • Triage, assess, and support patients by evaluating the severity of medical side effects and enquiries
  • Respond to patients promptly, delivering accurate medical information and advice while adhering to safety and quality standards
  • Maintain patient safety, especially when addressing medical concerns and side effects
  • Monitor patient progress through tracking data and reach out to patients to support treatment adherence
  • Engage in proactive outreach to support patients' adherence to treatment plans
  • Prepare and manage GP letters to support patient care
  • Coordinate with pharmacies to ensure accurate and timely medication delivery and information exchange
  • Conduct 4-month and 8-month reviews of patient progress and treatment plans
  • Share patient feedback and insights with the clinical services team and wider business
