About the Role
You will design, build, commission, and sustain mechatronic manufacturing systems. You will integrate robotics, controls, sensors, and software; conduct validation testing; maintain technical documentation; troubleshoot failures; and implement process improvements for solid rocket motor production.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline with three years of relevant experience, a relevant master's degree with one year of experience, or seven years of hands-on mechatronics and automation experience
- Experience designing, building, and commissioning mechatronic systems
- Experience integrating PLCs, sensors, actuators, and software control layers
- Programming ability in Python, C#, C++, or equivalent
- Experience in a regulated industry
- Knowledge of OSHA and ITAR requirements
- Technical documentation and communication skills
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain state and federal explosives licenses
- U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligibility for required export authorizations
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and commission mechatronic systems
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve automated production systems
- Integrate robots, actuators, sensors, PLCs, software controls, and data pipelines
- Develop and execute system validation and acceptance tests
- Maintain schematics, test records, validation reports, and change logs
- Implement manufacturing process improvements
- Perform root-cause analysis for system failures and process deviations
- Use AI-assisted tools for design, code generation, and troubleshooting
