About the Role
You will design mechanical parts, build and test prototypes, and create detailed drawings. You will design and build test stands, support hands-on testing and systems integration, inspect first articles, track part quality, and help integrate sensors and motors.
Requirements
- Submit a portfolio or website of relevant projects and your role
- Pursue a degree in Mechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field and have completed at least two years by the internship start
- Experience using 3D CAD software for complex geometry
- Experience designing, building, and testing mechanical prototypes
- Hands-on experience with hardware projects
- Ability to write and maintain documentation throughout the design process
Responsibilities
- Design parts in 3D CAD that meet load, form-factor, and durability requirements
- Build and test prototypes to validate mechanical concepts and performance
- Generate 2D drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5
- Design and build test stands and support hands-on testing
- Inspect first articles, track part quality, and support robot development platforms
- Support electromechanical integration of components such as sensors and motors
