About the Role
You will independently design and integrate aircraft systems and components. You will develop installation layouts, component designs, routing paths, drawings, CAD assemblies, product structures, BOMs, and engineering releases. You will apply GD&T and tolerance analyses, support prototype and production builds, investigate integration issues, implement corrective actions, and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of professional mechanical-system design and integration experience.
- Experience designing machined, fabricated, composite, and sheet-metal components through production release.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD models, assemblies, layouts, and drawings using NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or equivalent software.
- Experience with PLM systems and engineering data, product structures, BOMs, and drawing releases.
- Knowledge of aircraft installation practices, subsystem packaging, interface management, equipment mounting, and maintainability.
- Experience with EWIS, hydraulic, fuel, pneumatic, ECS, or similar-system installation layouts.
- Knowledge of GD&T under ASME Y14.5 and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Experience supporting prototype builds, manufacturing, aircraft assembly, installation, and production issue resolution.
- Experience performing root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Design machined, fabricated, composite, and sheet-metal aircraft components.
- Develop aircraft installation layouts.
- Design routing paths for EWIS, hydraulic, fuel, pneumatic, and ECS systems.
- Develop engineering, installation, and assembly drawings.
- Maintain CAD assemblies, product structures, BOMs, and engineering releases in PLM systems.
- Apply GD&T and tolerance stack-up analyses.
- Support prototype aircraft builds, production integration, and manufacturing issue resolution.
- Investigate integration issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate to integrate avionics and aircraft system components.
- Perform engineering calculations to support design decisions and structural adequacy.
