About the Role
You will design, prototype, build and commission automated robotic systems. You will create gantries and end effectors, improve mechanical reliability, install and debug robots, manage suppliers, and specify sensors for machine error detection.
Requirements
- Have experience with fast-paced mechanical design
- Be confident with 3D CAD
- Have experience designing and commissioning machined components within wider subsystems
- Have built systems, ideally robotics
- Have experience with design for manufacturing by machining
Responsibilities
- Design gantries and end effectors in Fusion 360
- Analyze end effector behavior and revise geometry to improve reliability
- Design mechanical systems for handling electronics parts
- Install, commission and debug robots
- Manage supplier relationships for machine builds
- Troubleshoot wiring cabinets and motor drives
- Work with build team members to keep builds safe and efficient
- Specify sensors for machine error detection
