About the Role
You will design and integrate mechanical solutions for vehicle sensors and compute systems. You will take concepts through prototypes and manufacture, create drawings and BOMs, build validation rigs, coordinate suppliers, and prepare build, inspection, safety, and quality documentation.
Requirements
- Portfolio of relevant work
- 4+ years of mechanical or design engineering experience
- SolidWorks proficiency
- Experience with master model development and multi-part assemblies
- Knowledge of sheet metal, machining, vacuum casting, 3D printing, and design for manufacture
- Experience designing and building test jigs, rigs, and fixtures
- Workshop experience
- 2D drawing, assembly, BOM management, and GD&T skills
- Experience with FMEA or DFMEA
Responsibilities
- Design and integrate mechanical solutions for sensors and compute across vehicle platforms
- Own mechanical trade-offs across performance, cost, manufacturability, and serviceability
- Develop and build hardware-in-the-loop systems, test rigs, jigs, and fixtures
- Produce 2D drawings, assemblies, and BOMs using GD&T
- Source and manufacture parts with supply chain and external suppliers
- Collaborate with electronics and engineering teams on compute and sensor integration
- Create build instructions, inspection checklists, and safety and quality documentation
- Support knowledge transfer to fleet and field teams
