About the Role
You will support daily machine and fabrication shop operations by moving and staging materials, preparing finished parts, assisting with welding-cell fabrications, and completing secondary machining tasks. You will help maintain shop cleanliness and coolant levels while following PPE and safe material-handling requirements.
Requirements
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, machine shop, or fabrication shop
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Comfort working in an active warehouse and office environment
- Ability to operate machine shop equipment, welding experience, forklift operation, overhead crane operation, machine shop tooling knowledge, blueprint reading, and manufacturing software experience are preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses and safety-toe shoes
Responsibilities
- Support daily machine and fabrication shop activities
- Move parts between departments
- Clean and paint finished parts according to prints
- Assist with loading and unloading large fabrications in welding cells
- Complete secondary tasks on machined parts
- Stage raw material with prints to maintain workflow
- Fit and tack coupons
- Assist with shop cleanup and monitor machine coolant levels
