About the Role
You will lead multidisciplinary teams that develop and integrate perception software for autonomous aircraft. You will build object detection, tracking, sensor fusion, and localization capabilities; optimize performance in simulated and operational environments; validate mission readiness; and coordinate with autonomy, hardware, and integration teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 5 years with a master's degree, or 4 years with a PhD
- 5+ years of experience in unmanned systems programs in the DoD or applied research and development
- 2+ years of people leadership experience

Responsibilities
- Lead autonomy, integration, and testing teams
- Develop perception algorithms for object detection, classification, and multi-target tracking
- Implement sensor fusion frameworks
- Develop localization and pose-estimation algorithms
- Analyze sensor interface control documents and specifications
- Optimize perception pipelines for real-time performance and robustness
- Integrate perception outputs with autonomy systems
- Validate algorithms using synthetic data, simulation, and field testing
- Collaborate with hardware and sensor teams
- Advance airborne sensing capabilities
- Travel to office locations, customer sites, and flight integration events
