About the Role
You will lead the design, development, and operation of the Identity Platform. You will manage the full KYC lifecycle, including CIP verification, CDD, continuous risk monitoring, KYB, sanctions screening, and Red Flag rules. You will drive AI-first automation, mentor engineers, improve reliability, handle customer and regulatory escalations, and work with cross-functional stakeholders to shape the platform roadmap.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years in engineering
- 3+ years managing senior and staff engineers
- Backend engineering expertise
- Experience building and scaling backend systems
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience with Python and Airflow
- Experience with synchronous API services and batch and event-driven ETL pipelines
- Operational excellence and incident management experience
- AI and machine learning experience for automation
- Experience engaging with enterprise customers and compliance officers
- Cross-functional leadership and stakeholder influence
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end identity verification lifecycle, including CIP, CDD, and continuous customer risk monitoring
- Build and operate systems that enforce KYC obligations and event-driven re-verification
- Drive AI-first automation for KYC and KYB decisioning, sanctions screening, and Red Flag rule evaluation
- Lead and mentor an engineering team to improve velocity and system reliability
- Lead technical and business-facing customer and regulatory escalations
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, Product, Operations, and Legal to shape the platform roadmap and identity verification strategy
