About the Role
You will build and lead an autonomous-vehicle development function, hire and mentor engineers, and deliver autonomy capabilities for Japanese road conditions. You will align technical roadmaps between the Japan office and headquarters, guide feature development through deployment, work with OEM partners, and support product and vehicle operations.
Requirements
- Demonstrate a strong background in robotics and autonomy.
- Build and deploy systems in real-world environments.
- Lead and grow high-performing engineering teams.
- Define goals, create roadmaps, and deliver work with minimal supervision.
- Guide software engineering, machine learning, controls, and systems integration.
- Communicate technical context and strategic vision across cultures and time zones.
- Manage stakeholders and interface with OEM customers.
- Have experience with autonomous vehicles, robotic systems at scale, Japanese road environments, AV regulation, machine learning, real-time decision-making, or perception systems.
- Have Japanese language proficiency.
